Our Facility

Completed in 1998, our modern, 6,000 sq. ft. facility allows us to offer a wide range of pet care services in comfortable surroundings. Conveniently located close to both Northampton and Amherst on Route 9 in Hadley Massachusetts, our facility and staff provide a place for high quality and convenient "one-stop shopping" for all your pet care needs.

The Lobby

Our Lobby serves as "home base" for all of our services. Bright and open with cathedral ceilings, from here you and your pet can access front desk, hospital care, boarding, grooming, pet "deli", dental home care supplies and retail areas. A children's play area and stray cat adoption area are also located in our lobby.

Pharmacy

Our Pharmacy is stocked with a wide variety of medications in many ways similar to your typical human pharmacy. In most cases your pet's medications are prepared while you are still in the exam room and delivered during your visit prior to check-out!

In-House Laboratory

The ability to run many tests on premises in our own laboratory is vital in cases where rapid diagnosis is required. Our chemistry and electrolyte analyzers give rapid and accurate results in minutes when time is of the essence. We also have an outside commercial lab service offering a full spectrum of tests with most results available within 24 hours.

Treatment Room

Our Treatment room is the hub of our hospital where most routine as well as "Animal ER" procedures occur. We have an Intensive Care ward with intravenous pumps and oxygen cages where we can keep a close eye on our more seriously ill or injured patients. Our Dental area, complete with high speed drill and dental X-ray allows us to offer state of the art dental services. Also in our treatment room, Endoscopy and Ultrasound services allow visualization into the body for more complete and rapid diagnosis and treatment.

Dental Center

Our state of the art dental center includes equipment for procedures from simple cleaning to complicated periodontal surgery and extractions. New for 2006 is our digital dental imaging equipment. This advanced system allows rapid and accurate imaging of dental structures below the gum line, allowing us to provide your pet with the most thorough care available.

Surgery

Our Surgical Suite allows us to provide a complete range of routine and specialty surgical services. To insure your pets safety during surgery, the most modern form of gas anesthesia is used and pets are carefully monitored with heart rate, Doppler blood pressure, and blood oxygen measuring equipment. When needed, surgical specialists are available for consultation and treatment of your pet.

Recycling Center

Valley Veterinary Hospital has adopted environmentally friendly “green” practices wherever possible in our operations .We significantly reduced our paper consumption when we computerized our medical records in 2004, and we recycle all wastepaper, cans, and cardboard. All of our lighting and air conditioning units are high efficiency. We do not use any lawn chemicals so your pet is free to sniff around safely before or after their visit!

Boarding

Our Inn for Pets Boarding facility opened in 1998 offering safe, clean, and comfortable lodging for your pets while you travel. Under continuous veterinary supervision, we offer a combination of Indoor-outdoor suites, private cages, and seasonally open campsites. Our large fenced outdoor play yard provides plenty of space for individualized attention and playtimes available as part of our VIP boarding package.
