Megan Wilson, BVSM
Veterinarian
Dr. Wilson has been interested in animals since an early age. She spent most of her time in high school commuting between Northfield Mount Hermon School and the barn where she kept her horse, Andy. When not spending time at the barn Megan pursued her other love, marine biology. Earning her open water scuba certification at age 12, Megan decided to pursue Marine Biology at the University of Miami and a Master's degree from Nova Southeastern University in Broward County Florida. While living in Florida, Megan became involved in marine turtle conservation and rescue. It was in her role as Stranding Coordinator, aka the turtle ambulance, that she became interested in veterinary medicine.
In order to achieve her new goal of becoming a veterinarian, Megan completed her pre-health post baccalaureate certificate at Mount Holyoke College. Following a gap year spent working at Dakin Humane Society's Spay and Neuter Clinic, Megan was accepted to the University of Edinburgh Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. After living abroad, Dr. Wilson returned home to the Pioneer Valley to start her practice in companion animal medicine. She has been practicing in the Springfield area for 6 years and still can be found helping out at Dakin as a per diem veterinarian. Now Megan enjoys surgery, dentistry, and feline medicine. She has not forgotten the sea and still makes time to scuba dive with her partner.
